Season 2012-13

Our ninth season is our most ambitious yet!

Having bade a fond farewell in 2011 to our original home of St Paul’s Church in Deptford, we are very pleased to be performing our concerts in our 2012-13 season at two venues: the church of St Alfege in the heart of Greenwich, and the beautiful St Stephen’s Church in Lewisham.  Both churches are very easily accessible by public transport, and both have wonderful acoustics.  You’re sure of a warm welcome wherever we’re playing!

First concert: Friday 19 October 2012 at 7.00 p.m. (NB the earlier start time)

We start the season with a new project for the Sinfonia – our first opera performance!  We are thrilled to be performing Verdi’s shattering late masterpiece, Otello, with the renowned tenor Jon Andrew in the title role.  We will also be breaking new ground with our choice of venue – neither St Stephen’s nor St Alfege churches are really big enough for such an ambitious undertaking, so we will be performing in Blackheath Halls – just around the corner from our regular venues, and mere minutes walk from Blackheath station.

Come and hear the Sinfonia at its finest – click here to download the complete programme for the Sinfonia’s 2012-13 season.  We hope to see you there!
